Sidekick news for PAX East 2014

It’s that time of year again, and PAX is taking over Boston! In honor of the event, we’ve got some news to share with you from the world of Sentinels of the Multiverse.

First of all, we’ve been getting lots of feedback on the recent release of Sentinels Sidekick for Android tablets and we have some good news and some bad news. The bad news is that it is taking us longer to get Sidekick for Android up to speed than we had anticipated, and for that we apologize. Android development hasn’t really been our thing before now, and in addition, most of our resources are currently deployed working on the full Sentinels of the Multiverse game. But there’s good news too! Since we put out the call, we’ve put together a truly great team of beta testers who have been helping us test the phone UI and we can finally announce that Sentinels Sidekick for Android is no longer tablet only! As of today, you can get the app for any Android 2.3 or later device including phones, tablets and even those things in between. Get it now! (One exception is first generation Kindle Fire, which we’re still having some trouble with.)

In addition to being available on more devices, we’ve also submitted this version to the Amazon Appstore for Android, so if for some reason you aren’t a Google Play person, you’ll also be able to join in the fun soon (Amazon has an approval process like Apple, but we’re hoping it should be available in about a week or so). But the other thing that makes Amazon availability so exciting is that Sentinels Sidekick will now be available in any region that Amazon supports. Many users from countries other than the United States and Canada have been upset that the app isn’t available for them, and this will alleviate once Amazon approves the app. In addition, starting today, we’ve added UK and Australia to supported regions via Google Play.

And finally, it just wouldn’t be PAX without a sale to celebrate so we’ve cut the price, this weekend only! If you’ve been waiting to recruit your plucky tabletop companion, now is definitely the time. Now through Monday, April 14th, Sentinels Sidekick for iOS is just $2.99 (regular price $4.99) and Sentinels Sidekick for Android is just $2.49 (regular price will be $3.49).

The next two biggest features requested on the Android side of the aisle are official artwork and Vengeance support and we’re already hard at work on those as you read this. Thanks for all the great support from the community, now get out there and save the Multiverse!
