Spirit Island Multiplayer

Multiplayer is now fully launched and you can play it cross-platform on Steam, iOS, and Android. Thanks to everyone who participated in the Multiplayer Public Beta for helping us continue to make Spirit Island better and better, we couldn’t do it without you!

The multiplayer update also introduced a major new feature for both local and multiplayer games: fine-grained Spirit Phase undo. Growth and other actions in the Spirit Phase can be undone using the buttons directly on their interfaces. You may undo back to before the Spirit Phase (or to when new information was revealed) using the main undo button. As part of this feature, you can independently undo Spirit Phase actions when playing with multiple Spirits. Also, you may use Presence track abilities (e.g. Reclaim One) at any time during the Spirit Phase.

General Multiplayer Information:

Online games are synchronous (live) and support between 2 and 4 players. Each player must control at least one Spirit, and may control more than one Spirit. Each game has a Spirit Leader denoted by a flower icon. Spirit Leaders can change game settings and reassign Spirits if players leave.

The simultaneous nature of Spirit Island is preserved during multiplayer gameplay. All players can perform their Spirit Phases simultaneously. At certain times your actions may temporarily block another player, and we're working on reducing/eliminating those cases.

During the Fast and Slow Power Phases, all players can use Powers simultaneously. However, while you are using a Power, to prevent conflicts, nobody else can use another Power that could affect the same Lands or Spirits as your Power. That will be indicated on screen by a visual effect on the Lands or Spirits.

During gameplay, there are decisions that the group must agree upon before proceeding. Instead of directly making the decision you will cast a vote, and when enough votes are in, the decision will be made.
